( on feeling good )

recently i've been really focusing on what makes me feel good & i've narrowed it down to a few very simple things that i can do often, if not everyday to make/keep me happy:

bike rides

i've been going for one everyday, sometimes twice a day. i have such a lovely trail by my house & it's a good 8km, perfect! also going for walks after dinner with mikey is quickly becoming a favourite thing to do too.

eating delicious (but healthy) food

finding food that you enjoy that is good for you too, feels extra wonderful.

spending time with friends

this is definitely one of my favourite things to do...for obvious reasons...i pretty much have the greatest friends to ever exist!

spending time outside

it's summer time! get some vitamin d in your system! it feels good, i promise.

( life lately )

i've been a little m.i.a from the blogosphere lately, mainly because i am trying my bestest to avoid my laptop at all costs (& the internet) and fully enjoy my summer. working two part-time jobs, i still have a fair bit of time on my hands which is great and i've been out riding my bike & spending time with friends as much as possible...after all, that's what summer is for! so i apologize for the lack of posts but don't apologize at the same time, as my real life definitely takes precedence over blogging and lately i've been having too much fun to apologize!

not the best photo of these cute boots i bought from my favourite vintage store here in town, sympathy for the rebel, but i liked the blurriness of it. they cost me a whole $13 (+ a free item as it was buy one get one free day!) love them!

i am really looking forward to a weekend away! i have today off, work tomorrow all day and then friday if it's crappy out, i'm getting more colour done on my owl side piece...if it's sunny out, i'll head up to the cottage early to spend some time outside, otherwise i'll be going up later that evening. this weekend my mum, dad, brother and his girlfriend are spending some time at the cottage and going to see the tragically hip on saturday in bobcaygeon (ya i know, hearing the song 'bobcaygeon' IN bobcaygeon will be pretty epic!) i'm reallllly looking forward to this weekend and fingers crossed that the weathermen are wrong-o about the rain!

side note: for those who care, my new serving job is going really well! i'm really loving everything about it, especially leaving at the end of the day with some cashola in my pocket :)

my new (to me) bike that i got from a friend for $50! the perfect cruiser...it was a little rusty to begin with so i took an SOS pad to it and let it work it's magic. now she's shiny and new!!

( tips )

tonight is my first night at my new serving job...

so far, these are the tips i've recieved other than "you'll do great!"

+ "just don't eat the food all the time...you don't want to get fat"

+ "ya, you'll probably fuck up...but you're new"

+ "don't let customers push you around or intimidate you, poison them or choke them out immediately"

how pretty are the sleeves on this top? even though the top is a bit big, i had to have it!! so off the shoulder it is...

today has been great so far. i went for a run this afternoon, had a refreshing shower & healthy lunch and soon will be heading to work...going to see the pack AD tonight play at a bar downtown so that should be fun! i've been getting mostly night shifts 4 or 5-9:30ish at H&M lately (other than weekends of course) and i'm really enjoying it as it frees up my daytimes so that i can enjoy the summertime :)
