so today as i was heading out to run some last minute errands, i checked my mailbox & my tunnel scarf arrived that the lovely tiffany of thatgirl crochet sent me for doing a giveaway here on my blog & boy oh boy is it ever pretty! i love the colour she chose to make me & it is the softest yarn ever!!

i unfortunately cannot take better photos as my good camera is packed away so i apologize for the crappy webcam quality but will take better photos when i return...
in the mean time...go buy yourself one of her scarves.
they are honestly great & super affordable (if you've searched for a handmade knitted scarf on etsy before you know they can run $60+ but not tiffany's, girlfriend knows where it's at!!)

tomorrow night we leave to stay at jess' parents place in mississauga for the night...er, well until 3 am when we have to wake up in order to make our 6 am flight. so, this will probably be my last blog post until i return on march 8th...if you need me, you can find me here:

also, you can't see the thrifted amazingness of these high waisted shorts in this photo but damn, they are great. i bought them as pants & cut/rolled the bottom & now they are great high waisted shorts that fit me like a glove!

jess & i went to the spa today for some treatments, a wax & a pedicure for me & i am ready for my vacation!! it feels great to have soft feet again & there was one of those lovely massage chairs for me to sit in while she did my toes, two in one, amazing!

i came home & painted my nails with a new nail polish i bought from the spa...OPI's 'pinking of you' & the little gem is from this cute kit i got at the dollar store for $1.25!

i really & truly love painting my nails and making them look all pretty. one of lifes simple pleasures.

it was a busy weekend (last) & a busy week...between going to the cottage, attending school & doing homework, picking up last minute items for cuba, etc...i haven't had much down time to blog. anyway, here are some photos from the last little bit

the weekend was full of amazing, amazing food (all of my favourites, yum!) lots of beers, laughs & a fun game of taboo! we also went into town for a couple of hours and did some ice fishing out front (didn't last long)

mikey (somehow) won the nascar bet we had going...first time in a nascar pool/watching a race & he beats all of us! i'm 'sad' as my guy was 1st for the last 5+ laps & then got into an accident on the 3rd last one...grrr! that $30 was almost mine.

so that was last weekend at the cottage, lots of fun & a new 'family day weekend' tradition ♥

today was sooo lovely. it was +9 which never happens in february...then by the time i left work, snowing again. what the heck mother nature, you're such a tease. anyway, i just wanted to wish everyone a happy weekend (& a happy long weekend if you're in canada) we're escaping to the cottage for the next 3 days & i couldn't be happier about it
