hello(please be nice to me)

2010 was a really great year for me...lots of life changes, what with quitting my terrible job at the call center & deciding to go back to school, getting a job at h&m (which i had always dreamed of working at) & continuing my amazing relationship with mikey. i'm excited to see what 2011 has in store for me/us. first, a move...who knows what else!

as for resolutions...i usually make some but either never stick with them or end up making more throughout the year. i think it's important to make positive changes throughout the year, not just when a new one comes around but in the spirit of the season,

here are my new years resolutions:

+ eat healthier (duh!)

+ keep a regular exercise regime

+ spend less time on the computer, more time with mikey & friends

& i would also like to have my owl (side piece) coloured in before the summer.

blog related resolutions:

+ do more outfit posts

+ make some weekly regular posts

+ comment on others blogs more!

so for those of who don't know, i live in ontario, canada...this time of year is usually -10 degrees...or there abouts, today it was +6 outside...unreal! so i took advantage of the 'warm' weather & this is what i wore:

( life update )

so i know i've apologized a million times for being a bad blogger but i have good reason. the holidays are always a busy time for everyone & i had a lot of back and forth between my parents house & other christmas parties and such (& work of course) but it was all very enjoyable. i had a wonderful christmas and time off at home (not quite as long as i would have liked but i have another weekend off coming up & coincidentally the 3 days prior, so a total of 5 days off) which will be great as they are right before i start back into my second semester at college.

in other news, mikey & i are moving...again. haha, i have been here for 3 years (in the same town as/living with mikey) & every year we've moved onto something better so here's hoping we're in this new place for a good long time! i don't doubt that we will be as we are both in love (with the place & with each other...hehehe)

this is a view after walking up our front stairs (the apartment is the upper half of a house. the lower half is a music store that sells guitars, aka: no neighbours...other then the house beside us of course but i mean no sharing wall neighbours which will be lovely!) the room to the left is looking into my craft room (yes my VERY own craft room/office) and to the right is looking into the dining room. behind us is our master bedroom...which looks like the other spaces (empty, for now) i didn't post a photo.

this is said dining room (in the front here) and in the back there is our living room (& that door leads to a cute balcony!) this photo doesn't really show the size but both are big and the same width :) also, how cute is that chandelier?

these stairs go down to our front porch.
we've never had a front porch before...though small, it's still a front porch! around the side there are the stairs that go up to our attic/second floor.

this is a crappy shot of our bathroom but i just wanted to showcase/mention that we a) have a bathtub & b) there are jets in it...yup, a jacuzzi tub...eeee!! i haven't had a bathtub in over a year so i am SUPER excited...it was one of my requirements for the new place.

do you see those floors? I SAID do you see those floors?? if i wasn't sold on the place before (which i was...) i would have been when i saw these dreamy floors. yes, this is the kitchen flooring of my dreams, no lie. gosh, i'm in love. anywho, lots of counter space/two sinks on the side of the kitchen you can't see in this photo.

& this little beauty will be my craft room/office...my very own space that i can decorate any which way i want. i almost wish that he had of left one of the walls the pink colour that he said he had just painted over as that would have been cute but i guess i could always paint it if i wanted to as well.

i am so excited to have a space to call my own!!

& this is the attic (well, one half of it...the other half isn't finished & will be used for storage) this will be mikeys space where he can bring his projector and x-box and video game/watch movies to his hearts content. we're both so happy to have our own spaces...not that it's ever a problem living in the loft that we're in now as we obviously get along and love each other (haha) but we've found it harder when i'm trying to do homework or read or anything that's quiet and he's watching a movie on the projector or playing video games in the same room. that can be a problem with open-concept lofts...that and lack of storage in the place we're in now is the reason why we're leaving this place.

don't get me wrong, we absolutely adore the space we're in. it's incredibly gorgeous, stainless steel counter-tops, beautiful hardwood floors, 12 foot ceilings, massive windows, RIGHT downtown...and we'll miss the heck out of this place i'm sure, but it's really meant for 1 person, not 2...and especially not 2 who both like stuff and have a lot of clothes, lol.

so anyways, some fun changes for 2011 that we are both REALLY excited for.

hi hi hi! here i am this morning in no-makeup-land. i feel like the crummiest blogger in all of the blogosphere. it seems like everyone else is finding time amongst this busy time of year except for me. in all fairness, i've barely been home. the past 3 days were spent at my parents house for christmas. i enjoyed lots of good times with my friends and my famjam, amazing food (i think i'm still stuffed) and lots of yummy wine :) my christmas was amazing, i'm so lucky to have the family that i do. h&m was pretty crazy yesterday so boxing day was basically a blur...and i was just home for the night and now am heading back home again for another christmas today, this time with all of my extended family who i don't get to see that often so that will be nice! i promise promise promise i will be back to my regular postings sometime soon. have you missed me??

also, i can't let today pass without wishing my two favourite people in the whole world a happy anniversary. today is my mum & dads 30th wedding anniversary, can you believe that? 30 years! not many people have parents who are still together and so i am so very lucky to be able to say that they are. i love them so very much & i know that they read my blog so happy anniversary mum&dad ♥

first of all, i want to wish everyone a merry christmas (eve) & tomorrow a very merry christmas. i hope everyone gets to spend time with their families & friends and appreciates the reason for the season (which isn't jesus for me as i'm not religious) it's being with those that you love & spending time together.

i haven't had any time to read/comment on blogs, let alone keep you guys updated on my life. if i haven't been at work, there's been some other sort of event or something going on, i don't mind as work = money but i thought i'd have a bit more time to relax. anyway, i'm off after work the 22nd and am heading home until the morning of boxing day. i SO badly need to do laundry and clean this mess of an apartment though...SO badly. i'm done work tomorrow at 4 so everything will have to get finished then! anyway, if i don't blog before christmas i hope everyone has a lovely christmas & has some time to relax and see family & friends, which is what it's all about!

sorry for my absence. remember that day i had off? ya, i got called into work so nothing got done. my next & only day off until i get to go home for christmas break is sunday so my big 'to do' list will just have to wait. i think h&m should do my laundry for me since they're the reason i haven't gotten it done yet, lol.

anyway. i'm sorry for the lack of posts but i simply don't have the time. i hope everyone is doing well & i will be back as soon as i can!! christmas season in retail is busaaay! on the plus side, money money money money...MONEY!!

today is my first day off of my holiday break. no work & no school. first of all, i slept in until 1:30 & now i don't know what to do with myself.

that's a lie...i have a million & one things to do:

• about 5 loads of laundry
• complete 4 headband orders
• make a trip to the post office
• make my christmas cards
• make a facebook event for our new years party
• deep clean the apartment
• finish wrapping christmas presents
• get some groceries

i work the whole rest of the week (until sunday) so i hopefully can get all of, if not most of, this list done today!

this is my christmas present this year from mikey...i know we're about 10 days too early but my ring came in & i just could not wait to put it on my finger! i am oh-so in love with it ♥ isn't it gorgeous??? i think it has a very antique feel to it which i love.

today has been great so far! i took my last two tests for first semester & now i am done first semester & done school for 3 weeks...DONE!! FINITO!! DONEZO!! WAHOO!!!!!!!!!! (okay, i'm finished...) and when i came home i had 4 packages in the mail - 2 were christmas gifts for friends, 1 was a cute little paper elf, a button & some stickers from my good friend becky of strumpets crumpets & the other was from marjie of pianosaurus which included $ for me from her headband order but also this cute mug which you may recognize from one of my 'etsy faves' post a bit ago...

isn't she so sweet? she is destashing her store & remembered that i loved this mug so she sent it to me :) random acts of kindness are adorable (& so is this mug!) i'm making a cup of tea to put in it right now.
thankyou marjie. you're the sweetest!!

the rest of today will include tea, bon iver & knitting til my fingers fall off. i have gotten 4 orders in the past 24 hours which makes me very happy...these knitted headbands are doing really well & people are loving them which makes me smile.

ps: i should clarify here as i realize some may be taking that ring the wrong way & it's hard to tell which hand it's on. it's being worn on my right hand, not my left...we're definitely headed in that direction, just not quite yet ;)

& incase you're curious, i got him a projector. it's kind of cheeky getting someone something that you can benefit from/use as well but that's what he asked for...it's amazing, watching movies in bed (better than a big screen t.v)

i had a really great weekend!!

worky work, brunch with my parents (so nice to see them!) christmas party/liquor potluck on saturday night, the most relaxing lazy sunday ever & then to continue the loveliness, mikey & i exchanged christmas presents tonight...yes, we were 11 days early but mine came in today & i wanted him to have his present if i had mine so we did. he is currently lying in bed watching his & i can't take my eyes off of mine *sigh* i will share more tomorrow after i take some photos...unless you have me on twitter then you already know what mine is ;)

he doesn't have a home on the wall just yet as i feel maybe our place is too small for him right now. mikey of course wants it above our bed...which ain't happening! see the hooves? they are to hold a gun...which they got mikey too (a pellet gun from the 1920s) buckey is not my favourite...yet...but i suppose i will have to get used to him.

i just wish he'd stop staring at me.

so whenever i first dye my hair dark brown (yes i dyed it again today!) it always, always looks black for the first couple of washes before it starts to fade. i'm okay with it...i actually kind of really like it even.

i might be obsessed with box dye/dying my hair. i do it like once month...i know that's pretty unhealthy for my hair but i love the feel of it right after dying it. it's always so shiny and pretty and feels so nice...and it's not like my hair's falling out or anything...(yet)

my christmas manicure i did this morning. you can't tell but that one finger has the prettiest silver sparkles all over it. i used to love sparkley nail polish when i was little girl & i'm glad it's made a comeback.

ah, where have i been? not in blog world that's for sure...womp womp. school has just been finishing up so that's been consuming my life somewhat. tuesday is my last day so wahoo, that will feel glorious once i am done. i've had a few tests and projects the last little bit. i got exempt from my final business exam as i have over 80% in that course so that made me feel pretty darn good :) i've never been an honours student & all of a sudden i am, hurray! today i had my 3rd cup of coffee, ever. i've never been a coffee drinker but a couple of days ago i had my first cup and have been enjoying them ever since. by no means am i going to start drinking it as much as most coffee drinkers but one every couple of days will be good (& since i don't drink anything with caffeine in it normally, i get a good caffeine buzz; wooo!)

tomorrow is my two year anniversary...

here's one i made last night. this was a request from a customer but i love the black band/white bow combo. it's really cute & classic and would go with just about anything. i love wearing mine as a headband too...not just for outside to keep my ears warm (though it does that too)

i currently have black, white, grey, seafoam, cranberry, pale pink, oatmeal and ivory. i can get more yarn though if you have a special request.
